I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
